AIG

AIG saga continues about who know what, but in the end they ( Obama Admin and the Dem Congress) knew about the bonuses March 3, 2009. Watch. Nine days before they said they knew anything.

I notice that it was a democrat who asked the question. Clearly members of Congress have been trying to get to the bottom of things for awhile. Perhaps the outrage is a show (which republicans are just as willing to perform in-I've seen numerous republicans in these proceedings acting out the same outrage), but whether there is a purpose or it's all just a way to try to sidestep responsibility, we should be outraged. Outraged citizens write to their congressmen, who in turn (hopefully) vote for things the people want-such as restrictions on these huge companies. Also, the media covers it, AT LAST. They should have done their journalistic jobs and reported this stuff ages ago instead of sitting in the pockets of these companies as they said everything was okay.

Anyway, why are you harping on the democrats about this? The republicans are as much to blame. All of congress is to blame, as is former President Bush, for allowing a package to go through that had no strings attached. That was as irresponsible as what these financial companies did to get us into this mess. It would have been simple enough to say you must use the money thus and so, and not thus and so. It would have been the burden of the companies to come up with money outside of federal tax money to pay those bonuses. And if they didn't have it, then the employees would have had to eat it.

Yes, now everyone is going to go back and forth blaming this person and that person because they want a scapegoat. Point of fact, no one person did this, no one party did this, thousands of people were involved, including members of both sides of the aisle.

and just so you know, I hold Obama as much to blame because he voted for the package while still in Congress, didn't he?

I'm just tired of this democrat/republican bullshit. Pointing to one party as though it's evil incarnate is what's disingenuous.
