I read the first page or so... I would say in response to this that people are becoming independent of religion - kind of filter or weeding out of those that aren't serious about living the Christian life. Growing up on Brownlee everyone went to church - that meant a lot of different things. For some it was what you did on Sunday because that was the culture, for others you went because your parents went, others because your friends went - it was the popular, ok-thing to do. Still others went because they wanted/needed to. Nowadays, I would say that those that are going are because they want to - it's more of a choice based on need/desire than based on popular culture reason. So, because of that distiction, the numbers are going to reflect down turn in attendance, etc. I would say that the people I am in contact with are more commmitted and passionate about the the things of the Lord. As the fire gets hotter, the impurities will separate from that which is pure.
