LHC -- Large Hadron Collider at CERN was fired up, and we are still here. There is a big controversy surounding the LHC that it will create quantum black holes thus destroying planet Earth. But, we are saved now because the collider will be down for 3 or more months, it was a large helium leak, and some kind of electrical problem.

There are some law suits againest the collider, these people have no understanding of the physics of the collider. I think that these are the same doom and gloom people world wide that believe that what ever man does somehow it is going to destroy the earth. One of the people bring a law suite againest the collider is a chemist, he probably had 2 physics classes in his life, a real expert. When they get the collider working it will be cool.
